....From Virginia. I've been on vacay for the past 7 days visiting family and hanging out. I'll have plenty of pictures to post when I get home, considering my family has already taken approx. 1500 pictures. Yah, they go a little camera happy. :)
Today we drove back to Washington D.C. to spend the last 3 days of our vacation. I'm writing this little blog update from the comfort of my cousin's home while Jake and 4 of my cousins are out giving Jake a tour of the D.C. sites, complete with a tour of Congress. Why, you may be asking yourself, am I not with them?
Well, my friends, it is a sad tale. 2 days ago I celebrated my 25th birthday. And bright and early on my birthday morning, I woke up with some serious pain in my back. Yep. I threw out my back on my birthday. I wasn't really concerned about turning a quarter of a century old until I had to spend the day in bed doped up on drugs. Nothing like throwing out your back to make you feel like you're getting old. And to top it all off, Jake is now calling me his old lady because I have to walk around with a heating pad on my back :)

Happy Friday....
I've spent most of the last 7 days with my grams who is in the hospital with some heart issues. Never a good thing. But she was released today so we're all crossing our fingers that she'll remain at home this time in good health....besides having been an exhausting week and spending altogether too much time in hospitals so far this year, the outcomes have, thus far, been happy so I must focus on the good....
On a happier note, it's Friday!! I plan on doing some relaxing, hopefully getting a little reading in along with some long over-due (like 2 years over-due) scrapping. I STILL have not made my 2007 calendars. And right now you're thinking "Um, it's almost March." I know. Which is why I need to get on them. Because even though it's almost march, my family STILL WANTS THEM. So, I must finish them. Or start them. Whatever. :)
Jake and I just finalized travel arrangements to Virginia in March! We're flying in to Washington D.C., driving into Lynchburg VA for about 5 days, then heading back to D.C. to hang out for a few days before coming home. Jake has never been to the east coast so he's pretty excited to see all the sites in D.C. Plus I'll get to hang out with my family that I don't get to see very often!! I'm sure I'll have tons of pictures to share when we get back!
And a random thing for the week.....a little while ago jake and I woke up to a phone call from our neighbor telling us to quietly look on our front porch. So we sneak upstairs, open the front door and what do we find on our door step? A TURKEY. Not like a frozen Butterball wrapped in plastic. A REAL, LIVE, TURKEY. Since when do turkey's hang out in an urban neighborhood in Colorado? He was just cruising along, visiting people's yards. I tried to feed it some corn but it didn't want any :) It wandered around our neighborhood for about 3 days and then it was gone. I don't even want to know what happened to it. Hopefully it found it's way back to a field and not on someone's dinner table.....

Happy Love Day!
For Valentine's Day this year, Jake and I decided not to do anything spectacular. Probably just hang out, make some dinner and watch a movie. So....I'm driving in to work this morning listening to the radio and one of our local radio stations is doing their annual "36 hours for kids" where they raise money for Children's Hospital. Having spent some time in the NICU this past year, I feel I have a greater understanding of what parents/family/friends go through when they have a sick child. All the nervous waiting, fidgeting, trying to make small talk to pass the time, and the sinking feeling you get when the doctor comes out to give you some kind of news. So this morning I've donated my money to the Children's Hospital where I know they will use it for a great cause. It's amazing the things they can accomplish and how many children's lives they save every year....sometimes I forget to be thankful for everything that I have, everyone that I love and who loves me, and for all of the healthy people in my life.....
And as a side note.....it's not such a great idea to listen to all the stories they tell during a telethon (radio-thon? I don't know.) while driving into work. Especially if you're an emotional person who cries at TV shows all the time. You end up getting to work looking like you've been crying because you're boyfriend forgot you on Valentine's Day or something. :)
Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Thanks Sarah!!!
A HUGE thank you goes out to Sarah for sending me the cutest RAK ever!! She sent me a whole bag full of awesome scrappy supplies that I can't believe she actually gave away!! I spent about 20 minutes on my floor pulling stuff out of the bag, "oooooh-ing" and "ahhhh-ing" and then turning to jake going "Oh! Look at this!!"
Needless to say, it totally made my day!!! Oh, and Sarah, I'm sorry it took me so long to thank you, I was trying to wait until I got a chance to take a picture of all the cute stuff layed out, but I haven't gotten that far yet!! But don't worry, there will be some love headed your way shortly!!
P.S. I *may* share with Jamie. ;)

Ick.
I know it's a little late for resolutions, it being almost February and all, but I've decided that I'm going to change some things in my life. I've been feeling fairly "ick" as of late and am going to do something about it.....
1. There's a new gym right down the block from us that just opened and Jake and I joined last night. I'm hoping that since it's so close to the house, I'll get myself to work out at least 4-5 times a week. Cross your fingers, I'd much rather be at home in my PJ's watching Grey's.
2. I'm going start going to the doctor at least once a year. I've been awful at consistently going to the doctor. (I've already made 2 appointments, one more to go....)
3. I'm going to drink more water, and less sugar filled liquids. My goal is at least 2 nalgene bottles a day.....looks like I'll also be spending more time in the bathroom....
4. I'm going to use lotion on a regular basis. I've been so lazy lately that I haven't been putting lotion on and now my skin looks like it's going to fall off. Not even lying.
5. I'm going to actually DO my hair more often. Instead of letting it hang in a hideous frizzy pony tail all the time because I'm too lazy to do it.
6. Speaking of hair, I'm going to get it cut more than twice a year.
7. I'm definitely going to scrap more. And by more I mean more than just the 2 pages I did last year. Seriously.
8. And lastly, I'm going to visit my grandparents more than just once a year. Nothing like a quadruple bypass to make you realize that you don't see them enough....
In an effort to motivate me to run more, I bought myself a little present:
Me likey.

Vegas Pics....
Just a quick little post before I go watch some football......
Vegas pictures, as promised....
Had a great time in Vegas with the girls.....I have a lot of snapshots of us at the clubs, and in the casino, but oddly enough I don't have any of the sites in Vegas....Funny how that happens :)
So it's supposed to snow here again on thursday. AGAIN. We still have a 6 foot snow pile lining the sides of our driveway, and we're supposed to get MORE. Don't get me wrong, I think the snow is gorgeous, I love having it on our trees and mountains and such. But I HATE driving in it, especially when there isn't enough time in between storms for the ice on the street to melt. Which means after this snow, we'll have 3 layers of ice on our neighborhood streets. COOL. Though I would be alright with it if we got another couple of snow days from work :)

There is seriously something wrong in this world when you live in suburbia Colorado, you're 24 years old, and today is the second time in your life you've received a phone call telling you that one of your friends has been involved in a shooting. What is wrong with people and why is it so easy for people to get semi-automatic weapons to carry around in their cars for "recreational" purposes?
